1 Force scheduling is done based on a combination of available times and any requested times by the teams involved.

2 In most cases the league will schedule the closest slot available to the middle of the times requested by both teams.

3 The SBL reserves the right to schedule any time it deems fair, and the time can not be challenged by either captain.
8 If captains feel like they can not play on the scheduled weekend, they may attempt to agree a pre-game postponement with the opposing captain.

1 In the case of extenuating circumstances, a captain can appeal for the match postponement to be made. An postponement appeal will only be considered if sent prior to the forced scheduled game time and will be voted on by the Directors.

2 The postponement agreement must be verified by the SBL for it to be valid.

4 Defenders who are checked into the crease by the attacking team will be given the opportunity to leave the crease immediately to avoid being penalized, they must take the shortest & most direct route
5 Any non-designated goalie that intentionally creases to save a shot or to force an offensive player to adjust will be ejected from the game and their team will lose a player slot for the remainder of the match.
6 A goal will be awarded to the attacking team if a defensive player creases in order to save a shot if their is no goalie inside the inner crease at the time of the shot & the shot is on target.
7 If a goalie leaves the game, any player on that team may defend from within the crease. It will be assumed that this player is the replacement goalie; goalies will need to be requested and re announce

6 Match Procedures
1 Each match must be coordinated by at least 1 staff member, usually and preferably 2 or more staff members.
2 If no staff member is online or available to referee the game, the league reserves the right to force-postpone the game.

1 The force postponement may only last a matter of minutes as it is likely a referee will be online but busy either playing in another league or another SBL game.

2 If no referee is available for the remainder of the evening, the game will be force postponed until the week after.
3 Both participating captains and their squads are recommended to be present 5-10 minutes before the scheduled game time.

1 The arena game timer must be started 5 minutes prior to the start of the game (for a 6:00 game, the arena game timer starts at 5:55)

2 Each team may use one (1) five (5) minute delay to push back the game time.

3 Team delays begin at game time and continue on for 5 minutes (6:00 is game time, delay starts at 6:00 and runs to 6:05).
4 If the match is postponed the captains have the option of requesting the match to be replayed or continuing the game with the previous score/time.
5 Any situation in-game that surfaces (but is not yet addressed in these rules) will be dealt with by the referees at the match. If needed, the SBL will review the decision and make proper changes.
6 Two representatives from each squad must enter an assigned game chat designated by the referee.
7 The roster and goalies must be submitted through the captains` chat.

1 All requests that want to be honored must be done through the captains' chat. Any requests made in public, team, or spec chat will be ignored.
8 It is recommended to make your requests notable to the referees (capitals, double lines, etc.)

7 Latency
1 Players are not allowed to play over the lag limits of 250ms current/last and 2.0% combined packet loss. Players with 1.5% or higher Server2you or You2server packet loss are ineligible to play. Players are not allowed to play if latency meets or exceeds of 75% of last ping.

1 Please note that when dealing with a player who has a + and a - packet loss, the calculation is simply X plus Y (For example, player A with -2.1 c2s and 1.5 s2c will be considered as having a combined packet loss of 3.6).
2 Players are not allowed to play with excessive visual lag (deemed by the head referee). eg. jumping, continuously eating multiple checks, continuously bugging the ball.
3 If a player is spectated by a referee, they will be ineligible for 5 minutes. Their slot will not be lost and any other player may be substituted in.

1 If a player is spectated by a referee three times they will become ineligible for the remainder of the game.
4 Lag goals can be removed from the game with a majority vote between both participating captains and the head referee (2 out of 3). Instances of lag goals are the following (lag goals will be determined by the referee).

1 Blatant shot directly through one player.

2 Shot passing through the proximity of two players.

3 A goal scored due to server lag.

8 Substitutions
1 Substitutions may only be made by request of the representatives in the game chat.
2 Substitutions will be done by referees right away, but this change will be subject to a suitable delay as imposed by the referee to ensure this change was not requested in order to illegally get a player back defending.
3 A referee can accept a substitution request under any of the following conditions:

1 The team making the substitution either has possession, or the ball is in the other team's half.

2 The player to be substituted out is next to his/her own crease, and substituting in a player will have no readily apparent effect on the offensive team's possession.

3 The player who is to be taken out does not have the ball, is not in a position where he/she will be getting the ball within the short foreseeable future and will not have an immediate impact on the current play.

4 If a goalie enters spec, he/she may be unspecced assuming any of the above conditions are satisfied.
4 Whenever a substitution is requested, the player being substituted will be specced first, the referee will then deem this substitute to be legal, and then the replacement will be unspecced.
5 When substituting goalies, it will be the player's responsibility to re-enter the net.

9 MVPs
1 MVPs will be decided by the winning team's captain (or representative). The MVP may be on either the winning or losing team.
